veritas_incarne: Introducing a Prompt Table

In the spirit of fanfic50 and the like, I have taken the liberty of creating a prompt table for Crystal Chronicles! I figured that doing something like this will help liven up the community--and you're free to interpret any of the prompts however you wish. You could also use it for whatever best suits your purposes--I'm quite excited to see what you guys come up with!

jarethrake: My Characters

Last post for today, honest.;p

I usually play on single-player mode, and aim to collect every single artefact with a male and female of each tribe, and then bring them all onto one super-powered file.  This will probably take me about fifty years, but it's nice to have a goal.

jarethrake: Artefact Advice

From my blog;

In the original Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles for the Gamecube, your character increases their statistics (item slots, hearts, strength, defence and magic) by collecting artefacts. They can claim one per dungeon completion, and the artefacts they have to choose from vary depending on what they picked up in the dungeon and how many bonus points they have. There's a very good guide here listing all the artefacts and where you can get them.

Some artefacts can only be found during certain cycles of the dungeons. In short, if you progress too far in the game without getting them - as I just did, goddammit - they become lost forever (I am not going to link to TV Tropes here. You're welcome).

This is really a long-winded way of saying that if you wait till the end to get the following four artefacts, you won't be getting them.

Artefact Dungeon
Book of LightMoschet Manor
BucklerRiver Belle Path, Mine of Cathuridges
Double AxeRiver Belle Path, Mine of Cathuridges, Mushroom Forest, Daemon's Court
Rune StaffSelepation Cave

See above linked FAQ for more specific information on where to get those things.

A list of artefacts and effects to follow! Or perhaps not. We'll see. I'm going to have to wipe out a full 53+ hours of gameplay to make sure I complete my goal of having one character collect all the artefacts. Motherf***er.

On another note, it really helps if you link up a GBA to the Gamecube while playing, purely so you can find out what the bonus condition is. The map is also quite handy.

jarethrake: Theory

I have a theory that the people of the FF:CC world originally came from Earth, but travelled to another planet.

I base this theory on how they name food - Star Carrots, Striped Apples, Gourd Potatoes, and so on.  Why give them Earth names with a modifier, unless they were familiar with the originals?  Why not just give them a completely new name?

It's a little like the way we refer to email as e(lectronic)-mail.  If we weren't already familiar with the postal service, it would have a different name.

rykugen: Some pictures

Hey, it has been awhile since I've last been here. Far too long I dare say XD But I see that this place is still as bare as ever. Come on people! This is an awesome game! I wonder why this place is so lifeless? Ah well...

I decided to draw some chibis of my characters =D I hope you guys don't mind XD

scarl_star: Why....why is this place so deserted???

I absolutely LOVED this game to death! I'm surprised there aren't a bigger fan base on this.

Not like the original, but I like the change! Yay for Clavat X Selkie romance!

leona_rose188: An Introduction and some Original Character-related fun.

This being my first entry, both in this community and in the whole of Livejournal, I believe a hello is in order.... So, "greetings, people!"

I'm a bit surprised that there are so few communities (or fan-forums, for that matter,) based around this game. I knew that Crystal Chronicles was one of the more unknown Final Fantasies, as well as one of those games you either adored or despised, but I would have thought that it would have a bit more to its fandom -- it's a pity, honestly; it's a rather fun and interesting game if you take it for what it is.

I first started playing it shortly after it came out. I was quite young at the time, so my interest level varied depending on what was going on at the time. As soon as I ran into a boss I couldn't beat by simply running over and beating it with a stick, I lost interest. My interest was rekindled, however, about a month ago -- I was sick at the time, vegetating on the couch, debating my options when it came to entertainment that wouldn't require a whole lot of effort. As my mind turned over the possibilities, I remembered -- what about Crystal Chronicles?

And so, long story short, here I am -- still playing it, still having a good deal of fun crafting personalities for my caravan when bored. If you've actually made it this far into my rambling, I commend you; now, here's what you actually wanted to see. ;) I have three made up so far, with a full caravan awaiting further development. They're all fairly basic, so if you've any questions or comments about a certain character, feel free to ask -- I love them, because it helps me characterize them more and better. They're all fairly trope-ish, but I don't really find that to be a "bad" thing per-say. Done correctly, trope characters can be quite interesting.

rubie_boobie: Posting Time

It's my first time posting something here and I feel a little weird about it because I can't get it to show the pretty formatting I had done to it.

Not gonna lose hope though! I've got to do my part to try and breathe life back into this community.

midnyte_wolf: *Puts on the Mod Cap*

Hi, again, everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that there's new leadership in this here caravan community. And there's a nice update in the future, hopefully. We'll be updating the theme and the overall look of this place, perhaps for the better.

I aim to get this community back up on its feet, even if its wobbly. FFCC deserves some kind of action. Isn't it a great game? Of course it is. Who doesn't love to run around and bash baddies with a random array of weaponry along side their friends?

Not to mention, the five year anniversary of this community is tomorrow. How do you like that? It would have been nice if I could be done with the update in time for tomorrow, but I don't think that will be the case.

^_^ So anyway (man, I talk too much), I'm counting on everyone!
